The best way to protect your eyesight is to have regular eye examinations with a professional, highly qualified optician. Having frequent eye exams can identify a wide range of health conditions, as well as eye related conditions, so it is highly recommended that you book regular eye examinations.

Philip Jones provides a comprehensive eye examination in a friendly, professional environment and can also provide guidance on any specific occupational or recreational eyecare needs you might have.

We promise to deliver the best possible eye care and advice to you. To take the time to understand your needs in detail and carefully explain our recommendations, we always carry out a thorough investigation of your vision, examine your eyes for possible health problems, and offer advice on any specific occupational or recreational needs.

Optical Coherence tomography (OCT) is the latest available technology used to monitor the health of the retina. You can access the newest generation of OCT at Philip Jones, to provide a more thorough examination, with better diagnosis and monitoring.

An OCT scan is really quick (3 seconds per eye) and completely comfortable, so you can be in and out in just a few minutes, with all of the reports immediately ready for your optometrist to review to check the health of your retina.

We now have the newest generation of OCT, the Topcon Triton DRI Swept Source. This allows us to scan faster, wider and deeper than previously, giving sharper images which enables better diagnosis and monitoring.

If you would like to book in for an OCT Scan during your Eye Examination please ask one of the receptionists, who will book this in for you. There is an additional charge of £40 for both private and NHS patients.
